The Zoological Society will receive a donation from ECO-CELL,

a cell phone recycling company, for every working digital

headset it collects. Usable cell phones are then donated to

charities, senior citizen groups and the police. The rest are

disposed of responsibly. So bring your old cell phone and/or

accessories to TBZ and drop them in the collection boxes that

are set up at the zoo.

Animal Adoption

 

 

From the 1,000 pound Bison and Elk, to the tiniest frog, all of

the more than 500 animals at Turtle Back Zoo get hungry everyday.

Their basic dietary needs are provided by a yearly budget

administered by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural

Affairs of the County Of Essex. Your sponsorship money goes

towards helping with special dietary items and animal care when

the budget projection fails to stretch as far as anticipated. Not

only food but maintenance and medical needs when necessary,

will be assured through your interest.

TBZ's Penny Machine

 

Looking for a great memento of your wonderful day at Turtle Back Zoo?

Why not try the penny machine located in front of the Souvenir Shop.

Put in two quarters and a penny and choose from among four popular

animal designs. You get back a flattened penny stamped with the animal

of your choice, plus the words "Turtle Back Zoo." A portion of the

proceeds from the penny machine goes to the Zoological Society

for the care and purchase of zoo animals.
